SPW offers young people a unique experience to volunteer at grassroots level in Tanzania, Uganda, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Zambia, India and Nepal. Living and working in partnership with young African & Asian volunteers you share knowledge, experience & ideas to support rural communities in their response to health & environmental issues that affect their lives
We will train you in local languages, cross cultural awareness, development techniques, rural technologies, leadership & team building and how to use sport, drama & music to communicate vital health and environmental information.
We are a non-profit organisation and a registered charity (regulated by the Charity Commission). We will support you to fundraise for your programme.

Gap Year Case Study:
Aid Project, Tanzania, Africa Taking a year out was something that I wished I had done. It meant that when I graduated I was still very young so I decided to up sticks and go away then. I didn't however fancy frittering the year away on some island in Thailand. I wanted an adventure and I suppose I wanted to challenge myself. The fact that I ended up being tested like never before while also doing something really worthwhile was a lucky bonus. I decided to go to Africa. I had never been to a developing country before so I wanted to go with an organisation that would provide some form of in country support. SPW or Students' Partnership Worldwide is an organisation that partners young volunteers from Europe, America and Australia with volunteers from the countries in which it works, namely India, Nepal, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia and South Africa.
